Fire jobs are the longest — soot cleanup and odor removal take 1 to 3 weeks, with reconstruction adding 4 to 12 weeks for major losses. We give you a written timeline before work starts.
Cost varies by the type and extent of damage. We offer free on-site evaluations and provide upfront Xactimate estimates before any work begins. Most water, fire, and sudden mold losses are covered under your homeowner's insurance policy — we bill the insurer directly so your out-of-pocket is limited to the deductible.
Most policies cover sudden and accidental damage — burst pipes, fires, smoke, and mold caused by a covered water loss. Long-term leaks and pre-existing mold are typically excluded. We work with every major Canadian carrier, document the loss properly, and guide you through the claim from first call to final payout.
First, make sure everyone is safe and the source is controlled — water shut off, fire fully extinguished by the fire department, mold area sealed off. Don't touch soot or disturb mold. Document with photos if safe to do so, then call us at (647) 493-4887. We'll be on-site within 60 minutes to stop further damage and start the claim.
Yes — when it's done correctly. Surface cleaning alone won't do it because soot and odor molecules embed in porous materials. We use HEPA filtration, hydroxyl generators, thermal fogging, and selective demolition of unsalvageable materials. We don't sign off until an air quality test confirms the property is clean.
Surface mold under 10 sq ft on a hard surface can be cleaned by a homeowner. Anything larger, anything inside a wall cavity, or anything in an HVAC system needs professional containment — disturbing it spreads spores through the property. We follow Health Canada and IICRC S520 protocols and provide post-clearance air testing.
